4-in-One Crib

I cannot recommend a 4-in-One Crib enough! You can save yourself a lot of money if you do not have to buy a crib, a toddler bed, and then a full-sized bed later.

We purchased the Delta 4-in-One Convertible Crib for my son and he is currently in the toddler bed position. We did not have to spend hundreds of dollars on a toddler bed that he would outgrow in a few years anyway. Once he is a little bigger, he can move up to the full bed.

Mattress

This may be obvious, but definitely a necessity for the nursery. Most crib mattresses have an infant side and a toddler side. The infant side is more firm for safe sleep. The toddler side is softer for a more comfortable safe sleep.

Mattress Protector

It is highly recommended to grab your baby’s crib a mattress protector. Diapers are destined to leak at some point. The last thing you want to be doing is needing to scrub your baby’s mattress along with the sheets. You can save time and throw the mattress protector and the sheets into the washing machine.

Sheets

Speaking of sheets, there are so many different patterns for sheets now! This is great because you can change your nursery theme along the way if you wanted to. When my son was a baby, he had elephants. Now that he is a toddler, he like dinosaurs, Paw Patrol, and Cars!

Changing Pad

This may be a bonus item for some moms, but not this one! In my son’s room, his dresser had a changing table on top and I placed the changing pad inside. My daughter’s room was a little different. We refurbished old dressers and just placed the changing pad on top. Either way, we needed a changing pad, especially for those newborn days when you are changing 20 diapers a day!

Dresser

If you have room for a dresser, I highly recommend one. It is possible to hang baby clothes, however, you will need somewhere to store socks, diapers, wipes, etc.

Closet Organization

There are so many ways to organize your baby’s closet. How you choose to organize the closet will depend on its size.

Sound Machine/Night Light

I highly recommend the Hatch Sound Machine. This acts not only as a nightlight but as a sound machine. There are multiple sounds to pick from. You can change the color to whichever your child likes. A timer can be set to start and stop the sounds and lights and it is all done from the Hatch app!

Diaper Pail

This may be a luxury but let me tell you, it saves our baby’s room from stinking up!
